Anna Kendrick and J.K. Simmons are confirmed to headline the geo-political thriller series titled “Embassy.” The series will be distributed by AGC Television, which plans to showcase it to global buyers at Mipcom.
When a group of armed mercenaries breaches the U.S. embassy in London, Layla (Kendrick), a clever and determined American diplomat, must make a harrowing decision: safeguard the U.S. ambassador (Simmons) or comply with his directive to extract a crucial asset from the embassy. As a broader conspiracy emerges, Layla must depend on her instincts and the unwilling assistance of her ex-fiancé, a British SAS operative, during the critical moments leading up to the extraction.
This series is crafted and penned by Rom Lotan, with direction by John Strickland, known for his work in “Bodyguard,” “Line of Duty,” and “The Flight Attendant.” Filming is scheduled to commence in February 2026 across London and Cologne.
Produced by Ascendant Fox and Turbine Studios, with funding from AGC Television, the television production and distribution division of Stuart Ford’s AGC Studios.
Executive producers include Lotan, Strickland, Hester Ruoff and Bart Ruspoli from Ascendant Fox, Daniel Hetzer, Jakob Neuhausser, Justin Thomson, and David Tanner from Turbine, along with AGC’s Ford, Lourdes Diaz, and Miguel A. Palos Jr.
Kendrick is also set to star alongside Seth Rogen in the upcoming comedy “Babies,” which will be written and directed by Lauren Miller Rogan, with filming beginning in Los Angeles this November. She is set to appear next with Adam Driver and Daniel Kaluuya in Chris Rock’s untitled directorial debut for A24.
