The Center for Creative Works in collaboration with Haverford College’s Cantor Fitzgerald Gallery unveils an innovative, multisensory exhibition showcasing the talents of neurodivergent artists.

This autumn, the prominent art studio in Philadelphia, the Center for Creative Works (CCW), collaborates with Haverford College’s Cantor Fitzgerald Gallery to launch LOOK HERE, an engaging multisensory exhibition that reveals the intricate and insightful viewpoints represented through the works of neurodivergent artists. The exhibition features an array of vibrant illustrations that thoughtfully document variations in food categories, transit, and household objects, alongside sculptures crafted from found materials that represent a tactile understanding of the world. Visitors are encouraged to engage in a full sensory experience to explore diverse perspectives on “looking” at reality.

LOOK HERE showcases the talents of six artists whose practice stems from CCW – including Kelly Brown, Cindy Gosselin, Clyde Henry, Tim Quinn, Brandon Spicer-Crawley, and Allen Yu. Curated by Jennifer Gilbert with the involvement of CCW artists Mary T. Bevlock and Paige Donovan, the exhibition highlights art’s capacity to engage multiple senses.

The layout of the exhibition incorporates diverse accessibility features to cater to a broad audience, such as braille descriptions, informative videos featuring artists with embedded American Sign Language (ASL), tactile panels showcasing artists’ materials, sensory backpacks, an Easy Read guide, a designated quiet area, and tours conducted by neurodivergent artists.

The presentation of LOOK HERE is enhanced by a selection of related events, comprising two additional exhibitions — one at Haverford’s VCAM gallery, LOOK THERE, which presents a singular work from a larger collective of 99 CCW artists, and another at Philadelphia’s Atelier Gallery through the end of October, LOOK EVERYWHERE, spotlighting creations from 33 artists across 30 progressive art studios nationwide.

These exhibitions are set to coincide with the upcoming sixth annual Creating Community Symposium, scheduled for October 20–23. The symposium, which originated with California’s Creative Growth Art Center, unites professional voices from progressive art studios across the United States to share insights on best practices, advocacy efforts, and the evolving narratives at the intersection of art and disability. Notably, this marks the first time the event will be hosted on the East Coast.

LOOK HERE and LOOK THERE will be exhibited until December 13, 2025, while LOOK EVERYWHERE concludes on October 31.
