Lana Condor is set to make her guest star debut in the third season of CBS’ police procedural series “Elsbeth.” In this role, she will portray the significantly younger girlfriend of a college basketball coach in a narrative filled with both drama and humor, branched off from “The Good Wife” and “The Good Fight.”
Condor’s character, named Peyton, leverages her influence to take on the role of an unofficial assistant coach, even though the team and its supporters would rather see her stay out of the spotlight. When the athletic director of the school is found dead following a heated exchange with Peyton, the campus community quickly points fingers at the controversial figure in the world of college basketball.
Season 3 of “Elsbeth” is set to premiere on October 12. The series features Carrie Preston in the lead role as Elsbeth Tascioni, the unofficial detective. The show’s format is often described as a “howcatchem” mystery, where viewers are generally informed of the culprits right from the outset of each episode. The first season debuted in February 2024, with the second season following closely behind.
“Elsbeth” boasts a dynamic lineup of guest stars, including Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, Alan Ruck, Jane Krakowski, David Alan Grier, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Mary-Louise Parker, and Tracy Ullman, among others. This season will introduce Julia Fox as a New York City “grief influencer,” and Stephen Colbert will guest star as a late-night host.
Condor, recognized for her work as an actor and YouTube creator, made her film debut as Jubilee in the 2016 superhero film “X-Men: Apocalypse.” She gained widespread acclaim for her portrayal of Lara Jean Covey in the “To All the Boys” film series, where she starred alongside Noah Centineo. More recently, she appeared in “Valiant One” with Chase Stokes and is slated to star in the David Leitch action project “Ballerina Overdrive.”
