“Saturday Night Live” Weekend Update hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che were surprised when former anchors Seth Meyers, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler crashed their desk for a lively “Joke Off.”
The comedic trio stopped by to poke fun at a recent news item involving a woman in a Tennessee hospital who gave birth to an extraordinary 13-pound baby. Some of the punchlines included:
*”That baby was so hefty that he smacked the doctor on the behind.”
*”Did she actually give birth or did the baby just drive out?”
*”She not only set the hospital record but also decided to teach her husband a lesson by breaking off his penis to prevent another occurrence.”
Poehler served as the host for the episode, with Fey making a cameo during the cold open as Kristi Noem.
The beloved trio spent a significant amount of time on Weekend Update, with Fey co-hosting alongside Jimmy Fallon from 2000 to 2004, then Fey and Poehler taking the reins from 2004 to 2006, followed by Poehler and Meyers from 2006 to 2008. Meyers continued to host solo from 2008 until 2013.
In other segments of Update, Jost and Che made jabs at Arby’s (“Arby’s has announced a new addition to their menu: Steak Nuggets. But you can also create your own Steak Nuggets at home by indulging in a variety of Arby’s meals.”), Gen Z (“An increasing number of Gen Z men are returning to their childhood homes, taking charge of chores, and referring to themselves as ‘trad sons,’ a new term to replace the more traditional ‘failures.’”), and Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (“RFK remarked this week that circumcised men are more prone to autism, which is rather fitting coming from someone who resembles a walking foreskin.”)
