Sir Elton John Opens Up About Health Struggles and Mortality
Sir Elton John has been candid about his history of health struggles, revealing that he has undergone knee and hip replacements, as well as surgery for prostate cancer over the years.
Despite these challenges, the iconic singer remains positive and focused on making the most of his time with his two sons, Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11. He shared that his sons worry about his mortality and express their desire for him to be around forever.
Reflecting on his own mortality, Sir Elton said, “I want to be around forever. I want to see them have children, get married, but I don’t think I am going to be around for that. Who knows? You never know. That’s why I want to make the best of my time while I am around. Our time together is so wonderful and so precious.”
Despite his health struggles, Sir Elton maintains his sense of humor. At an earlier screening, he joked about his medical history, saying, “I don’t have tonsils, adenoids, or an appendix. I don’t have a prostate. I don’t have a right hip or a left knee or a right knee. In fact, the only thing left to me is my left hip. But I’m still here.”
As Sir Elton John continues to navigate his health challenges, he remains focused on cherishing the time he has with his loved ones and making the most of every moment.
