A repeat offender accused of brutally amputating a stranger’s fingers during a machete attack in the Bronx has amassed a staggering 45 arrests, and is now facing charges in a tragic hit-and-run that resulted in the death of a cancer survivor last year, according to reports from The Post.

Timothy Bohler, 31, was recently apprehended in connection with the fatal incident involving Lelawattie Narine, a 52-year-old mother, after allegedly striking her with his motorcycle on March 22, 2024. Witnesses say he fled the scene, leaving her to succumb to her injuries on a Queens street.

“I’m really relieved they caught him,” stated Narine’s son, Darshan Narine. “He just abandoned my mom. It was so wrong. He could have called for help… instead, he just ran away.”

“I had no idea he had been arrested 45 times,” he continued. “How is he able to keep getting released?”

Bohler is facing new charges while already incarcerated at Rikers Island for a shocking machete attack on January 24 that left MTA worker Tayquon Young severely injured, as he was attacked in a Bronx bodega.

The assailant also reportedly threatened to decapitate Young’s dog during the incident, sources revealed.

Bohler’s extensive criminal history includes a 2016 incident where he allegedly assaulted workers at a Bronx deli after they denied him credit for a six-pack of beer.

He was also arrested in October 2024 on multiple charges including rape, weapons possession, assault, and unlawful surveillance related to a domestic violence case. The exact circumstances of his bail remained unclear as of Sunday. The Bronx District Attorney’s Office did not respond promptly to inquiries.

While waiting on Rikers, Bohler continued his alarming behavior; he was charged with robbery after allegedly stealing pepper spray from a female corrections officer and using it against her on February 10.

His rap sheet expanded further with his latest arrest on Friday for allegedly fleeing the scene of the fatal accident that claimed Narine’s life; she had just completed chemotherapy and had been declared cancer-free.

“Her doctors advised her to stay active, and she tried to walk a mile every day,” said Darshan, 35. “It’s heartbreaking that she was struck while just trying to be healthy.”

Bohler’s past offenses include the 2016 assault when deli workers denied him beer on credit.

According to police, Narine was at the intersection of 114th Street and Liberty Avenue when Bohler allegedly ran her over with a 2023 Jiajue motorcycle.

The mother, who had been wearing a wig due to hair loss from her treatment, sustained critical injuries and was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where she later passed away less than three weeks later.

Narine’s son remarked on the challenges of identifying her at the hospital due to her lack of identification: “She didn’t take her wallet or purse on walks, so they had her listed as a Jane Doe. But when I saw the wig in her belongings, I knew it was her.”

Bohler is currently charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, operating a motorcycle without a license, and other offenses.

Additionally, he remains imprisoned on assault and menacing charges stemming from the machete incident that severely incapacitated Tayquon Young, who lost four fingers as a result.

“Thank goodness they apprehended him,” said Young’s mother, Kimtreese Young, expressing her hope that authorities will keep Bohler behind bars this time. “It’s concerning how frequently they let offenders out. I pray this time they hold him accountable. Someone lost their life,” she urged. “Maybe this will motivate my son to seek help. After losing his job with the city, he felt he had no choice but to give up.”

Young was out walking his dog in Crotona when an altercation with Bohler’s dog led to the horrific violence, according to police statements.

“It was a devastating moment for our family,” Kimtreese added. “When he was attacked with that machete, it took a heavy toll on him.”
