6:00 PM PT — Alec shared on Instagram that he crashed his wife Hilaria’s white Range Rover while trying to evade a large garbage truck that suddenly cut in front of him. He stated he was attending the Hamptons Film Festival with his brother Stephen when the mishap occurred, lamenting, “I damaged my wife’s car and I feel bad about it ā but everyone is fine. I’m fine, my brother’s fine.” He concluded the video with a sweet message, “Hilaria, I love you more than anything and Iām so proud of you.”
5:56 PM PT — A representative for Stephen informed TMZ that “Stephen is okay and is grateful that no one was hurt. He appreciates the concern and confirms that both he and Alec are safe.”
Alec Baldwin appears to be facing more challenges as he was recently involved in a vehicle accident in The Hamptons, according to TMZ.
The acclaimed actor and his brother Stephen encountered a mishap in East Hampton, New York, on Monday, crashing head-on into a tree while driving their Range Rover.
Exclusive photos obtained by TMZ reveal police officers investigating the scene, with the brothers gathered around amidst the rain. One image shows a garbage truck; the truck company claims their driver was not at fault in the incident.
The footage clearly shows that the front end of the SUV is severely damaged. It’s unclear at this point who was driving and who owns the Range Rover. We’ve attempted to reach the East Hampton police department for details, but have not yet received a response. We’ve also reached out to representatives for Alec and Stephen, but have yet to hear back.
As you may recall, Alec has gone through a tumultuous few years, starting with the tragedy on the set of “Rust” in 2021, where he was accused of fatally shooting cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. He was later acquitted of manslaughter charges and cleared of wrongdoing.
In February 2025, Baldwin lost his temper when confronted by a Donald Trump impersonator in New York City, who criticized him regarding the “Rust” incident.
In March 2025, the attorney for the Hutchins family, Gloria Allred, criticized Baldwin, stating he enjoyed being with his children while disregarding the pain he caused Hutchins’ family on his TLC reality show, “The Baldwins.”
