In The Penguin, Magpie is portrayed as the cellmate of Sofia Falcone, a character with a mysterious past. Despite her seemingly harmless demeanor, Magpie displays a strange fixation on Sofia, referring to her as ‘Hangman’ and engaging in cryptic conversations about shared experiences. However, Sofia suspects that Magpie may have ulterior motives and is collaborating with the authorities at Arkham Asylum.

Magpie, also known as Margaret Pye, made her debut in The Man of Steel #3 in 1983. Initially a museum curator at the Gotham City Museum of Antiquities, Magpie’s descent into madness stemmed from her obsession with valuable artifacts that she could never possess.

Resorting to theft and deception, Magpie began replacing museum pieces with dangerous replicas, leading to a criminal spree aided by her gang of accomplices. Her criminal activities attracted the attention of Batman and Superman, resulting in a dramatic showdown that culminated in her incarceration at Arkham Asylum.
