Jimmy Kimmel never misses a chance to tease Jimmy Fallon — including fabricating absurd rumors about a covert family.
In an exclusive clip from Us Weekly for the episode of On Brand With Jimmy Fallon airing on Tuesday, October 14, the Tonight Show host engaged the contestants concerning their most significant task yet. This included Captain Morgan enlisting the On Brand Agency creatives to devise a Super Bowl marketing strategy aimed at connecting with younger audiences and encouraging camaraderie among friends.
Fallon, 51, was playfully interrupted by Kimmel, 57, who made a surprise appearance through a video broadcast on the stadium’s Jumbotron. Kimmel remarked, “Hello, eclectic group of creatives! Isn’t this thrilling? Two late-night Jimmys teaming up for an extraordinary journey with Captain Morgan original spice rum — a dream come true for all of you!”
Kimmel took this opportunity to express his feelings about his friendship with Fallon.
“Jimmy and I share a long-standing friendship and have this tradition. Whenever we tie in the ratings, we do this,” Kimmel quipped, leading Fallon to humorously cut off half of his tie in sync with him.
After eliciting laughter among the creatives, Kimmel instructed Fallon to “close your eyes” as he wanted to say some kind words without him overhearing.
“Jimmy and I are much like you all. We go head to head every evening, and people think we’re rivals, but we are friends,” Kimmel added. “To secure the Captain Morgan project and a trip to the Super Bowl, you’ll need to collaborate. May the best team prevail!”
Kimmel then playfully misled Fallon regarding a segment on the show, adding, “Jimmy, I hope it’s cool. I mentioned your secret family in Miami!”
The two comedians have been there for one another over the years while leading their respective programs. Just last month, Fallon showcased his support when Kimmel’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! faced a brief suspension by ABC.
“Well folks, the significant news is that Jimmy Kimmel was suspended by ABC due to FCC pressure, causing quite the stir,” Fallon commented on his show during that time. “Earlier today, I received a hundred texts from my dad stating, ‘I’m sorry they canceled your show.’ I had to reply, ‘That’s not me, that’s Jimmy Kimmel.’ But honestly, I have no idea what’s occurring, and no one does, but I do know that Jimmy Kimmel is a genuinely kind, hilarious man, and I sincerely hope for his return.”
On Brand With Jimmy Fallon is broadcasted on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET and Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, with episodes available for streaming the following day on Peacock.
