A Top Red Carpet Stylist Gets Into the Outerwear Game

For many years, stylist Rob Zangardi has been behind some of the most unforgettable fashion statements on the red carpet and beyond. To this day, Zangardi, in partnership with co-stylist Mariel Haenn, has had the privilege of styling celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Kerry Washington, and Suki Waterhouse among others. A defining characteristic of his aesthetic, both in professional and casual settings, is the presence of striking outerwear. “A great jacket or coat always makes me feel polished—whether it’s a trench over workout attire or a blazer worn as a dress,” he remarks. It seems only natural that Zangardi would turn to designing his own outerwear line.

Today, he unveils Auter, a meticulously crafted collection featuring wool, shearling, faux fur, and innovative waterproof designs, with prices ranging from $900 to $1,600. The stylist aimed to create both everyday essentials and statement pieces that elevate the wearer to A-list status. “I began by designing coats for my personal use,” Zangardi shared with Vogue. “There are countless brands producing coats, but very few embody the concept of fashion-first outerwear. My statement is simple: it’s what you wear on the outside that truly matters.”
