During a meeting with Argentine President Javier Milei on Tuesday, President Trump criticized ABC News host George Stephanopoulos.

“We’ll take a few questions from the press, and I expect them to be very friendly and non-hostile, like JD’s so-called ‘friendly’ chat with George Slopadopoulos,” Trump remarked sarcastically, playfully mispronouncing Stephanopoulos’ name.

In his comments, Trump referenced the ABC lawsuit, quipping, “He was kind enough to pay me $16 million last time we met — he had to pay me that amount. That’s great. It was worth it for someone to fabricate a story. Getting $16 million is a good deal.”

Following that, he criticized the recent interview Vice President JD Vance had with the Disney-owned network.

“JD faced a very rude interviewer, and we can’t allow that to happen. It’s inappropriate to interrupt a highly respected Vice President mid-sentence. I suppose it’s one way to win an argument, but it was wholly inappropriate,” Trump stated.

He asserted that he would no longer respond to questions from “ABC fake news.”

In a recent interview, Vance clashed with Stephanopoulos after denying claims that border czar Tom Homan accepted a bribe, accusing the ABC host of compromising his credibility, which led to a contentious interview ending.

Stephanopoulos insisted that Homan was “recorded on an audiotape in September 2024, an FBI surveillance tape, accepting $50,000 in cash.”

“I have no idea what tape you’re bringing up, George. I’ve seen reports that Tom Homan took a bribe, but there’s absolutely no proof. This is why fewer and fewer people tune in to your show and why you’re losing your credibility,” Vance responded. “We spent five minutes discussing a story about Tom Homan, and I’ve got no idea what video you’re referring to.”

After Vance suggested shifting topics, Stephanopoulos disagreed and ended the interview instead.

“Peace in the Middle East? China endangering critical supply chains? Government shutdowns? George S doesn’t give a hoot about those. He’s focused solely on a fake scandal surrounding Tom Homan,” Vance expressed on social media following the interview.

ABC News did not provide a response when asked for a comment.
