Scott Wolf honored his estranged wife Kelley Wolf on her 49th birthday, despite their ongoing divorce proceedings.
On Tuesday, October 14, Scott, who is 57, shared a heartfelt tribute to Kelley on Instagram, featuring a candid photo of her with a joyful expression accompanied by the caption, “Happy birthday to you. 🎉❤️🧑🦰.”
Followers of the Party of Five actor took to the comments to commend him for this display of kindness. One user praised, “A wonderful way to maintain healthy boundaries while still expressing love. A great model for your children,” while another remarked, “This is so thoughtful and offers a great example for your kids. Wishing healing and peace for all.”
Scott disclosed in June that he submitted divorce papers after 21 years of marriage, during which they welcomed three children: Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and Lucy, 11.
“After two decades together, I have made the hardest decision of my life, filing for divorce from Kelley,” Scott expressed in a statement to People. “Our children will always remain our top priority, so I ask for privacy as we navigate this new chapter.”
The split has not been easy for either party. Us Weekly later reported that Kelley had been detained by law enforcement and was subsequently hospitalized. Scott was later granted a temporary restraining order and awarded full custody of their children, in addition to sole authority over their family home in Utah.
Kelley took to her Instagram to make serious allegations against Scott, prompting him to respond to what he labeled “deeply troubling and utterly false claims” in an August response to People.
“I have chosen to speak out now to reveal that she has indicated to me her intent to ‘make claims’ against me, despite her admitting she does not believe them to be true, in order to secure leverage in what she sees as a ‘legal battle’ as well as in public perception,” his statement elaborated. “To safeguard my children’s well-being, I am sharing the messages she sent me because they illustrate her motives, as well as the malicious intent behind her falsehoods both present and future.”
The situation escalated when Kelley was arrested later that month for electronic communication harassment and disclosing personal identifying information after allegedly publishing Scott’s phone number online.
Subsequently, in a September report, Us confirmed that Kelley faced charges of violating a protective order intended to limit her direct contact with Scott and their children. Court documents revealed that Kelley, using a friend’s phone, allegedly contacted one of her sons “through a friend’s child,” leading to a court summons for November 7.
In her response to the allegations published in People, Kelley stated, “I am completely shocked by the relentless use of the legal system against me, which has become almost unbearable for my physical health and the well-being of my family. I want to emphasize that I have not violated any laws, nor spoken negatively about anyone. Divorce is a lengthy process, and anyone who puts more pressure on a mother simply seeking to protect her children needs to reevaluate their own actions.”
Reports also indicated that Kelley was recently admitted to a treatment facility in September, although she clarified via her Instagram Story on September 15 that she was “not in rehab.” Her message noted, “I am back in my hometown awaiting a court appearance. I have no criminal record, do not misuse substances, and I am a devoted mother. Please respect my privacy.”
She further expressed, “I’ve lost everything, I’m malnourished, and I feel like I’m treated as if I’m out of my mind. I’d appreciate more compassion and acknowledgment for my struggles.”
In the meantime, Scott announced on October 6 via an Instagram video his return to his Fox series Doc for a second season.
