Navigating Guilt Following Her Son’s Tragic Passing

Emilie Kiser opened up about her heartbreaking experience after the untimely death of her son, Trigg, expressing the challenge of permitting herself to experience joy again.
The social media influencer shared her raw feelings in a recent Instagram Story, revealing to her 2 million followers that she had undergone a profound 2-hour counseling session that delved into her emotional struggles and the accompanying guilt.
She stated, “One of the toughest aspects of grief, apart from the grief itself, is allowing yourself to feel joy again. It’s about not feeling an emotion about every emotion you have.”
Emilie emphasized that she is focusing on being present with her feelings, which manifest as sadness, anger, happiness, guilt, shame, or pain.
As many know, Emilie tragically lost her 3-year-old son to an accidental drowning in May, while under the care of her husband, Brady Kiser. At the time, he was also responsible for their now 7-month-old son, Theodore, and later reported to authorities that he had struggled to keep an eye on both.
Authorities estimate that Trigg was underwater for approximately 7 minutes before his father discovered him lifeless on May 12. He passed away in the Phoenix Children’s Hospital six days later, with prosecutors deciding not to file any charges related to the incident.
