Employees at a Marco’s Pizza in Texas found themselves in a dangerous situation when a young man, identified as 19-year-old Richard Curtis, entered the establishment with a gun and demanded cash. The incident took place on October 10 in Austin, where Curtis slipped a note to an employee instructing them to empty the cash drawer without making a sound.
The brave employees did not back down and instead took matters into their own hands. One employee noticed the gun in Curtis’ waistband and immediately grabbed him, putting him in a chokehold while another employee called the police for help. The manager of the pizzeria then intervened by taking the gun from Curtis and attempting to shoot him. When the gun failed to go off, the manager used the weapon’s handle to physically harm Curtis, leaving him with injuries to his face.
During the intense struggle, the manager grabbed a knife from the kitchen and gave Curtis an ultimatum – prison or death. Curtis, realizing the severity of the situation, chose prison and stopped fighting until the authorities arrived at the scene. Despite the chaos, one employee sustained a head injury but was later treated for their wounds.
