President Donald Trump recently took to Truth Social to launch a scathing attack on Late Night host Seth Meyers, labeling him as “a truly deranged lunatic” and insinuating that being “100% ANTI TRUMP” is “probably illegal.” This comes after Meyers mocked Trump during a recent episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers.
In his social media tirade, Trump criticized Meyers for discussing the topic of electric catapults on aircraft carriers, contrasting them with the older steam catapults that Trump preferred. He accused Meyers of being obsessed with the issue, referring to him as a “truly deranged lunatic” and questioning why NBC continues to support him despite his lack of talent and ratings. Trump even went as far as suggesting that Meyers’ anti-Trump stance could potentially be against the law.
The feud between Trump and Meyers escalated after the comedian poked fun at Trump’s comments about aircraft carrier catapults during a recent monologue. Trump had made remarks aboard the U.S.S. George Washington in Japan, praising steam catapults over electric ones and emphasizing the visual appeal of steam. Meyers humorously quipped about Trump’s preoccupation with catapults and compared him to the fictional character Wile E. Coyote.
This is not the first time that Trump has targeted Meyers. In a previous outburst in August, Trump criticized NBC for allegedly extending Meyers’ contract, despite the network having already signed a deal with the comedian the year before. Trump disparaged Meyers’ ratings, talent, and intelligence, describing him as having the personality of an insecure child.
The ongoing feud between Trump and Meyers highlights the tense relationship between the former president and the entertainment industry. As the two continue to exchange barbs, it remains to be seen whether their animosity will escalate further or eventually fizzle out.
