The Bilt Mastercard is a unique credit card that allows you to earn rewards on rent payments without any transaction fees. It also offers the opportunity to earn points on mortgage payments, making it an ideal choice for individuals with high monthly rental or mortgage expenses. Currently issued by Wells Fargo, the Bilt Mastercard is set to undergo changes in February 2026. Existing cardholders have the option to transition to the new Bilt Card 2.0, which offers three different card options. However, the new cards will no longer be affiliated with Wells Fargo.

To earn rewards with the Bilt Mastercard, you need to use the card at least five times a month. You can earn 3x points on dining, 2x points on travel, and 1x points on rent payments and all other purchases. There are additional benefits such as double points on the first of each month (excluding rent), the ability to redeem points for various rewards, and no foreign transaction fees.

Points earned with the Bilt Mastercard can be redeemed for a variety of options, including statement credits, down payments on a home, travel expenses, fitness classes, and more. The redemption rates vary depending on the option chosen. Points do not expire as long as your account is active, but you must use your card at least five times a month to continue earning points.

In addition to rewards, the Bilt Mastercard offers additional perks such as cell phone protection and purchase protection. It also provides trip cancellation protection and trip delay reimbursement when you pay for travel expenses with the card. The card is best suited for renters who want to build credit through on-time rent payments and earn rewards in the process.

While the Bilt Mastercard offers many benefits, it may not be the best option for everyone. Homeowners, frequent travelers, or individuals with existing credit cards that cater to their spending habits may not find as much value in the Bilt Mastercard. However, the card’s unique features, such as no transaction fees on rent payments and a variety of redemption options, make it a compelling choice for those looking to maximize rewards.

Overall, the Bilt Mastercard provides a convenient way to earn rewards on rent payments and other expenses. With its upcoming changes and various benefits, it is worth considering for individuals looking to make the most of their monthly spending.
