India batter KL Rahul recently shared his favorite moment with his father-in-law, Bollywood veteran Suniel Shetty, during an interview with CNN-News18. The cricketer and actor reflected on their most cherished memories, with Rahul highlighting his wedding to Athiya Shetty as the most special moment with Suniel. The couple tied the knot on January 23, 2023, in a private ceremony at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala. Rahul expressed, “For me, my favorite moment with him would have been our wedding. Our wedding day was very, very special. And I mean, most days are like I said, we’re always working, and at the end of the day, we spend time together. That’s one thing that sticks out to me, and seeing him as a grandfather.”
While Rahul is not currently part of India’s ongoing T20I series against Australia, where the Men in Blue lead 2-1 with one game remaining, he is showcasing his skills in India A’s unofficial second Test against South Africa A in Bengaluru. In the match, Rahul scored 19 runs in the first innings as the hosts posted 255, with Dhruv Jurel impressively remaining unbeaten on 132 off 175 balls.
During the interview, Suniel Shetty also praised KL Rahul’s transformation into fatherhood, noting how he has evolved from a boy to a man after welcoming his daughter, Evaarah, earlier this year on March 24, 2025. Suniel shared, “I think I was just going to say that, that transformation, that expression when he went from a boy to a man, from a mister to a father. I think that feeling and that expression that I see on his face every morning or evening, or whenever he’s with Evaarah.”
The bond between KL Rahul and Suniel Shetty is evident in their shared moments of joy and growth, both personally and professionally. Their relationship showcases a blend of sports and entertainment, highlighting the importance of family and support in navigating life’s milestones. As Rahul continues to excel in cricket and fatherhood, his connection with Suniel Shetty remains a source of inspiration and strength.
