AMC Networks has released its third-quarter earnings report for 2025, showing a 17% decrease in U.S. ad sales. However, there was a positive growth in paid streaming subscribers, with an increase of 200,000 customers across AMC Networks’ various brands, bringing the total number of subscribers to 10.4 million. This growth in streaming subscribers contributed to a 14% increase in domestic streaming revenue, reaching $174 million after implementing a price hike across platforms.
In addition to its streaming services, AMC Networks also operates several linear networks such as AMC, BBC AMERICA, IFC, SundanceTV, and We TV. The company also owns film distribution labels Independent Film Company and RLJE Films, as well as its in-house studio AMC Studios.
Analysts had predicted earnings per share (EPS) of 34 cents on $549.3 million in revenue for AMC Networks. However, the actual results showed an adjusted EPS of 18 cents on $562 million in revenue.
CEO Kristin Dolan highlighted the company’s successful transition from a cable networks business to a global streaming and technology-focused content company. She emphasized the accelerated growth in streaming revenue, which is expected to be the largest source of domestic revenue for the year. Dolan also mentioned the company’s healthy free cash flow and their target of achieving $250 million in free cash for the full year.
Overall, AMC Networks is positioning itself as a modern media business that is adaptable and well-prepared for the evolving media landscape. With a focus on streaming and technology, the company is poised to navigate the challenges and opportunities of the digital age.
