Lewis Hamilton faced disappointment at the 2025 Brazilian GP sprint qualifying as he was eliminated in the SQ2 session. The Ferrari star, along with his teammate Charles Leclerc, struggled in the SQ1 session but managed to barely make it to SQ2 after small improvements on their final laps.

In the SQ2 session, both Ferrari drivers were again on the verge of elimination and needed to improve on their final laps. Hamilton, already in the elimination race, started his final lap with Leclerc ahead of him on track. However, Leclerc spun around on his final lap, bringing out the yellow flag and hindering Hamilton’s chances of improving his position.

As Hamilton made his way into the pit lane for the random FIA check, his race engineer, Ricciardo Adami, informed him of the SQ2 result – P11. Hamilton, visibly disappointed, responded with a three-word reaction, “Yeah, everytime mate.”

Despite the setback, Hamilton had shown improvements in the last couple of races and seemed to be feeling comfortable in the car. However, the Brazilian GP sprint qualifying highlighted the struggles of both Ferrari drivers at Interlagos.

Rain was expected at Interlagos ahead of the Sprint race on Saturday, which could potentially play into Hamilton’s favor for scoring points. Lando Norris secured pole position, with Hamilton’s replacement at Mercedes, Kimi Antonelli, starting P2. Leclerc managed only P8 in the SQ3 and will start the Sprint qualifying race alongside Lance Stroll on the fourth row.

In a recent interview with Ferrari.com, Hamilton expressed confidence in the team’s progress since the summer break, stating, “Well, I think we’ve definitely made a lot of progress over the past month or so. Now we just need to keep pushing in the same direction here in Brazil and see what we can achieve. The team is united and in great spirits.”

Both Hamilton and Leclerc faced challenges with front locking during the sprint qualifying, resulting in a poor starting position for the Ferrari duo. Despite the setbacks, Hamilton remains optimistic about the team’s potential and is determined to push forward in the upcoming races.

Overall, the Brazilian GP sprint qualifying proved to be a challenging event for Lewis Hamilton and the Ferrari team. However, with a positive attitude and a focus on continued progress, Hamilton remains determined to overcome obstacles and strive for success in the remaining races of the season.
