This weekend, snowfall is expected to continue in the Rocky Mountains, adding one to two inches to the winter weather that hit Colorado’s high country on Friday.

The National Weather Service has forecasted snow showers for areas south of Interstate 70 until mid-day Saturday and has advised drivers to be prepared for wintry conditions in mountain passes.

This morning, there may be patchy fog south of Denver along Interstate 25, and isolated rain showers could occur along the Palmer Divide and in Lincoln County this afternoon.

The forecast for Saturday in Denver includes a 20% chance of rain before 10 a.m. The weather is expected to be mostly cloudy with a high of 58 and a low of 44 overnight.

Light snow is predicted to continue at higher elevations from Sunday to Monday, with showers and possible thunderstorms west of I-25 and south of I-70.

There is also a chance of rain in Denver on Monday before the weather warms up for the rest of the week.
