YouTube TV Subscribers to Receive $20 Credit Amid Disney Network Blackout

YouTube TV subscribers who have been without access to ESPN, ABC, and other Disney networks for over a week will be pleased to hear that they will be receiving a $20 credit towards their next billing statement. This news was first reported by Variety and confirmed by a YouTube spokesperson to JS. The credits are currently being rolled out, with detailed instructions on how to apply them being sent to subscribers via email.

The blackout of Disney channels on YouTube TV began on October 31, prompting the company to take action and offer compensation to affected customers. YouTube has stated that if a deal is reached with Disney, the channels will be restored promptly. The dispute seems to be centered around pricing, with YouTube accusing Disney of raising prices unreasonably, while Disney claims that YouTube is not willing to pay fair rates for their channels.

This is not the first time YouTube TV has faced a standoff with Disney. In 2022, a similar situation occurred, resulting in a one-day blackout of Disney programming. On that occasion, YouTube TV offered customers a $15 credit as a gesture of goodwill.
