The tragic death of teenage girl Celeste Rivas Hernandez has sparked a wave of speculation and controversy, as her decaying body was found in the trunk of a Tesla belonging to singer D4vd. Despite the shocking discovery, Los Angeles police have stated that they have yet to uncover evidence of a serious crime in relation to her death.
The cause of Celeste’s death, whose body was wrapped in plastic, remains unconfirmed, leaving many questions unanswered. The LAPD’s statement from September 29 simply stated that it is unclear whether there is criminal culpability beyond the concealment of her body.
Celeste’s corpse was found in a highly decomposed state on September 8, just a day after what would have been her 15th birthday. The discovery was made by workers at an impound lot who noticed a foul smell coming from a black Tesla that had been abandoned on a street near a mansion rented by D4vd’s manager.
The expensive electric car belonged to the 20-year-old music star, known legally as David Anthony Burke, who was on tour at the time of the discovery. Celeste’s mother revealed that her daughter had run away from home at the age of 13 after getting involved with someone named “David,” who had a matching tattoo to the singer.
Despite the grim discovery, hiding Celeste’s body in the singer’s trunk may only result in minor charges, as concealing human remains is considered a misdemeanor in California. D4vd cancelled his world tour following the incident, and numerous photos and videos circulating online show him with Celeste, sparking further speculation among his fans.
Police have since raided a mansion leased by D4vd’s manager, where the Tesla had been parked for weeks before being towed. Private detective Steve Fisher, hired to investigate the property, claimed to have found tools that could be used to dispose of a body on a farm.
Security footage revealed that the Tesla had been moved from its usual spot on July 29 and parked a few blocks away, where it remained until being towed on September 5. Celeste’s body was discovered three days later, leading Fisher to believe that she had been in the trunk for quite some time.
D4vd has remained silent since the discovery and has hired prominent lawyer Blair Berk for legal representation. The investigation into Celeste’s death continues, with many unanswered questions surrounding the circumstances of her tragic demise.
