Rashad Jennings, former New York Giants running back, has weighed in on the potential hiring of Steve Spagnuolo as the team’s new head coach. With the recent firing of Brian Daboll, the Giants are in search of a new leader for their team. While names like Jon Gruden and Lane Kiffin have been thrown around, Jennings believes that Spagnuolo could be the right fit.

In an interview with Babcock, Jennings expressed his support for Spagnuolo, who previously served as the Giants’ defensive coordinator and briefly as interim head coach. “Out of all the coaches that have coached, I wouldn’t be surprised if they asked Spags to come back to lock down that defense and get an offensive-minded coordinator to take over the offense,” Jennings stated.

Spagnuolo is no stranger to the Giants organization, having been a part of the team in the past. His defensive expertise could be valuable in shoring up the team’s defense and helping them improve on that side of the ball. Additionally, bringing in an offensive-minded coordinator could help revamp the team’s offensive strategy and playcalling.

Jennings also mentioned the young talent on the Giants roster, including standout player Cam Skattebo. With promising players like Skattebo, the future looks bright for the Giants, and having the right coaching staff in place could help them reach their full potential.

As the Giants continue their search for a new head coach, the possibility of Steve Spagnuolo taking on the role is certainly intriguing. Jennings believes that Spagnuolo’s experience and familiarity with the team could make him a strong candidate for the position. Only time will tell if the Giants decide to go in this direction, but it’s clear that Jennings sees potential in Spagnuolo leading the team to success. Rashad Jennings, the former NFL running back who suffered a gruesome ankle injury against the Eagles last month, is now considering a return to the field as a coach. In a recent interview, Jennings expressed his interest in coaching and even threw his name in the hat for any team looking for a running back coach.

“I’m not sure what the Giants are going to do, but I’ll tell you what,” Jennings stated. “I’m putting this out there. If anybody’s looking for a good running back coach, I’m available.” Despite not having any previous coaching experience, Jennings believes that now is the right time to pursue this new career path.

“I’ve been looking into getting into coaching for a very long time,” Jennings shared. “Now that I’m married, have a kid, and am settled, I feel like I can hold still in one spot and dedicate myself to coaching.” Jennings emphasized that although he may not have been the most skillful player, he had to learn the art of being a great running back and believes he can pass on his knowledge and skills to future players.

Before Jennings potentially joins a coaching staff, the struggling 2-8 Giants must finish out the remaining games on their schedule. It will likely be a challenging few months for the team, but Jennings is ready to step up and contribute in a new role. Stay tuned for updates on Jennings’ coaching aspirations and his potential return to the field in a different capacity.
