A young woman in Florida was recently caught speeding at an alarming 107 mph, with the excuse that she was rushing to get to Little Caesars for pizza before it closed. Yazmin Erazo, 21, was driving her Kia northbound on US Highway 19 in Palm Harbor when she was pulled over by a deputy from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
The speed limit on the highway was only 55 mph, making Erazo’s speed more than double the legal limit. It was just minutes before midnight, which was the closing time for the local eatery, prompting her to push the pedal to the metal in an attempt to satisfy her pizza craving.
The deputy clocked her speed at 107 mph using radar and promptly pulled her over. Erazo was taken into custody without incident, where she admitted that her reckless driving was solely motivated by her desire to reach the pizza joint before it closed.
She was arrested for dangerous and excessive speeding and booked into the Pinellas County Jail. However, she was later released on bond.
The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of speeding and the importance of obeying traffic laws. It also highlights the lengths some people will go to satisfy their food cravings. Hopefully, Erazo learned her lesson and will think twice before risking her safety and the safety of others for a slice of pizza.
