The program culminates in a thesis exhibition at the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art.
Three visiting artist programs provide students with exposure to renowned artists, critics, and curators. Recent speakers have included Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Cecilia Alemani, Xu Bing, and many other innovative artists. The program also offers financial support through teaching assistant positions, awards, and fellowships.
UC Davis partners with prestigious professional programs such as the Headlands Center for the Arts, Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and Tropical Lab residency in Singapore. The deadline to apply for the Maria Manetti Shrem Art Studio MFA Program is January 5, 2026.
