Dominik Mysterio recently revealed a new neck tattoo that features a luchador mask, adding to his collection of body art. The former Intercontinental Champion has been gradually transforming his look since his debut on WWE television as a child. From short hair and a tattoo on his left arm to a more intricate and meaningful collection of tattoos, Dominik has been expressing himself through his body art.
In a recent podcast appearance on the Towers of Power podcast, Dominik shared the story behind his new neck tattoo. He explained that the tattoo pays tribute to his uncle, Rey Mysterio Sr., and the Aztec culture. Describing the process as a “terrible” decision due to the pain involved, Dominik expressed his frustration that the tattoo is still unfinished. The design includes elements of the Aztec calendar with his uncle’s mask in the center, and Dominik plans to extend the tattoo further down his neck once it is complete.
Dominik Mysterio has been honoring various luchadors through his tattoos, including his father Rey Mysterio and symbols of the Aztec culture. He has also dedicated tattoos to eight luchador masks and symbols on his fingers, showcasing his deep connection to the wrestling world and his heritage.
In a heartfelt tribute to his late friend Eddie Guerrero on the 20th anniversary of his passing, Rey Mysterio penned a letter to Guerrero via The Players’ Tribune. In the letter, Rey praised Dominik for evolving into one of the top performers in WWE today, embodying many of the qualities that made Guerrero special. Dominik also paid tribute to Guerrero on his death anniversary, sharing a photo on Instagram and calling him the greatest of all time.
As Dominik Mysterio continues to carve out his own legacy in the wrestling world, his tattoos serve as a visual representation of his journey and the influences that have shaped him. With each new piece of body art, Dominik pays homage to his family, his heritage, and the wrestling legends who have inspired him along the way.
