Prince Andrew to Move to Smaller Residence on Sandringham Estate
After his eviction from Royal Lodge, Prince Andrew will be relocating to a smaller residence on the Sandringham estate. Options being considered for his new home include Park House, which was Princess Diana’s childhood home, or one of the several smaller cottages situated on the expansive 20,000-acre estate.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond expressed concerns that this transition could lead Prince Andrew further into solitude. She mentioned, “It seems to me that Andrew’s life will entail him being even more of a hermit than in recent years, and that’s saying something. The Sandringham estate is vast, with about 150 properties spread across villages and hamlets. While he could potentially become part of a new community, it is uncertain if he would be welcomed by many.”
A source from the palace shared, “People are genuinely afraid he’ll shut himself off completely once he’s at Sandringham. No one can say how he’ll manage on his own – there’s real concern for his state of mind.”
Despite the circumstances, Prince Andrew has been granted the opportunity to reside on the private estate by the King, ensuring that he will not burden taxpayers with any expenses. However, the question remains whether he will have any staff to assist him in his new living situation, as he may need to learn basic tasks such as cooking, shopping, and cleaning for himself.
