On the latest episode of “The Daily Show,” host Jon Stewart took aim at former President Donald Trump for his response to the release of thousands of emails related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. The emails, which were made public last week, shed light on the connections between Epstein and various high-profile individuals.

Stewart began his monologue by poking fun at a particularly viral email from Epstein’s brother Mark, in which he advises Epstein to ask former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon about whether or not “Putin has the photos of Trump blowing Bubba.” The comedian quipped, “And I know what you’re probably thinking: ‘Jeffrey Epstein had a brother?’ He did, apparently. And to the second thing that you might be thinking…” Stewart then played a news clip clarifying that the name “Bubba” in the email was not a reference to former President Bill Clinton, to which he responded with a sarcastic, “Thank you for clearing that up. No further questions, your honor.”

The late-night host then shifted focus to Trump’s sudden change in stance regarding the release of the Epstein files. After months of opposing the release of the documents, Trump recently tweeted in support of making them public, claiming that House Republicans should vote to release the files because they have “nothing to hide.” Stewart pointed out the hypocrisy in Trump’s statement, highlighting that if Trump truly had nothing to hide, he could have declassified and released the files himself at any time. He played a clip of Trump from 2022, where the former president asserted that as the president of the United States, he could declassify information simply by saying it’s declassified or even by thinking about it.

Stewart then critiqued Trump’s attempt to distance himself from Epstein by pointing fingers at Democrats who were associated with the disgraced financier. In a clip from CNN, Trump claimed, “We have nothing to do with Epstein. The Democrats do. All of his friends were Democrats.” Stewart countered this argument by highlighting the numerous photos of Trump and Epstein together, suggesting that Trump’s attempts to deflect blame were unfounded.

The monologue concluded with Stewart encouraging viewers to watch the entire segment, which offered a humorous yet critical take on Trump’s response to the Epstein emails. The episode showcased Stewart’s signature blend of satire and commentary, providing a unique perspective on a complex and controversial issue.
