The Otago Community Trust is reaching out to communities throughout Otago to ask a vital question: “what matters most?” This question will play a crucial role in determining how the trust collaborates with communities to provide essential, forward-thinking funding.

Since its establishment in 1988, the trust has granted over $230 million to support a multitude of initiatives across North, Central, and South Otago, including Dunedin.

Now, the trust is urging the people of Otago to voice their priorities to ensure that its future endeavors align with the needs of the communities it serves.

An expedient three-minute online survey has been launched to shape the trust’s future strategies and its support for the region.

In addition to the online survey, the trust will be organizing a series of in-person and virtual meetings, including a session in Dunedin on November 25th from 6pm-8pm at the Edgar Centre (Naylor Love Lounge) and another session on November 26th from 5.30pm-7.30pm at Mosgiel Coronation Hall.

Jemma Adams, the Chief Executive, emphasized the significance of the survey in allowing all residents of Otago to contribute to the region’s future.

“The Otago Community Trust belongs to every one of us in Otago.

This is an opportunity for Otago communities to shape their own future — not only for the present but for the generations to come,” Mrs. Adams expressed.

“We understand that the most innovative ideas and solutions stem from the community, so we encourage everyone to take three minutes to share their thoughts. It will truly make a difference.”
