Simon Laveuve is an artist renowned for his intricate and captivating miniatures that transport viewers into a world of post-apocalyptic charm. His meticulous sculptures depict a variety of homes and structures, each with its own unique twist that defies conventional architecture. From towering stilt houses perched precariously on rock formations to whimsical assemblages of everyday objects like tires and windows, Laveuve’s creations are a feast for the eyes.

Crafted at scales of 1/24 or 1/35, these miniature tableaux are devoid of human presence yet exude a lived-in feel, as if the inhabitants have just stepped out for a moment. Some of Laveuve’s works feature multiple levels, while others focus on specific interactions between different elements, such as a beach umbrella next to an abandoned car overtaken by giant roots. Whether mounted on a wall or displayed on a pedestal, these scenes reveal new details when viewed from different angles.

Laveuve has been incredibly productive recently, with Galerie Decorde showcasing 10 of his pieces at an art fair in Strasbourg, France. His work is also featured in Lucas Nadel’s exhibition at Tagliatella Galleries in Paris, running from November 22 to December 20. Additionally, Galerie Decorde will include Laveuve’s creations in a group show in December, further highlighting the artist’s growing presence in the art world.
