Season 2 of “The Hunting Party” is set to premiere with some exciting guest stars joining the cast. Niecy Nash-Betts, Eric McCormack, and his son Finnigan McCormack will make appearances in the upcoming season of the NBC drama.
“The Hunting Party” follows a team of investigators led by former FBI profiler Rebecca “Bex” Henderson, played by Melissa Roxburgh. The team is tasked with tracking down and capturing dangerous killers who have escaped from a top-secret government prison known as the Pit.
In the season premiere, Eric McCormack will portray Ron Simms, also known as the “Boogeyman” killer. Simms is on the loose, targeting women who are searching for love. Time is of the essence for the team to stop him before he leaves a trail of broken hearts behind. Finnigan McCormack will make his acting debut playing a younger version of Simms in a flashback scene.
Niecy Nash-Betts will join the cast in the second episode of Season 2 as Erica Burke, a detective with a connection to a serial killer named Adrian Gallo. Gallo has a chilling method of preserving his victims in acrylic resin, similar to how insects are preserved. Bex must work with Erica to track down Gallo before he strikes again.
Eric McCormack is a well-known actor, best recognized for his role as Will in NBC’s “Will & Grace.” Niecy Nash-Betts has received critical acclaim for her performances in shows like Netflix’s “Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” and Hulu’s “All’s Fair.”
“The Hunting Party” Season 2 is set to premiere on Jan. 8 at 10 p.m. The cast also includes Nick Wechsler, Patrick Sabongui, Josh McKenzie, and Sara Garcia. The series was created by JJ Bailey and is executive produced by Jake Coburn and director Thor Freudenthal. Universal Television produces the show.
