A chaotic scene unfolded in Queens as a rowdy mob descended on a quiet neighborhood in Malba, leaving a couple beaten and a car set on fire. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning when reckless drivers gathered on South Drive and 141 Street, engaging in dangerous activities like donuts and speeding over lawns.

According to victim Blake Ferrer, he confronted the mob and asked them to leave his property, which escalated into a violent attack. Video footage captured a group of individuals kicking, punching, and stomping on Ferrer, resulting in injuries including a broken nose and ribs. His wife was also assaulted during the altercation.

City Councilwoman Vickie Paladino, who represents the neighborhood, expressed disgust at the incident, stating that Ferrer was fortunate not to have been killed in the assault. Another local resident, Larry Rusch, described the scene as a “complete melee” and recounted how his car was targeted and set on fire by members of the mob.

Rusch, who owns a security company, attempted to intervene by parking a company car in the intersection to prevent the reckless drivers from continuing their disruptive behavior. However, the situation quickly escalated, with individuals setting the car on fire using fireworks. Video footage shared by Paladino captured the vehicle engulfed in flames as chaos ensued.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of the neighborhood, with residents noting that the area is a known hotspot for drivers engaging in donuts. Paladino highlighted the need for action to address the issue, warning that if the city fails to take necessary measures, residents may take matters into their own hands.

The disturbing events in Malba serve as a stark reminder of the consequences of reckless behavior and the importance of maintaining order and safety in communities. As investigations into the incident continue, residents are calling for increased vigilance and enforcement to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
