The latest mid-range smartphone series from Honor, the Honor 500 series, has been officially announced in China with some impressive specifications. Both the Honor 500 and the Honor 500 Pro feature a remarkable 200Mp main camera with a large 1/1.4-inch CMOS sensor, along with a 12Mp ultra-wide camera. The Honor 500 Pro goes a step further by adding a 50Mp telephoto camera with Honor’s SOIS stabilization system and six Film Live color modes for shooting.
In terms of performance, the Honor 500 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, while the Honor 500 Pro comes with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Both devices promise flagship-level performance, and Honor’s C1+ RF Enhanced Chip aims to enhance signal reception, network stability, and uplink speed.
One of the standout features of the Honor 500 series is the massive 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which supports 80W wired charging on both models and 50W wireless charging on the Pro model. The design of the phones includes a “cold-carved unibody design” with the camera module and rear panel made from a single piece of glass. The devices are sleek at 7.75mm thin, with thin screen bezels and IP68/IP69/IP69K certification.
Running on MagicOS 10, Honor’s custom Android UI, the phones also feature a customizable one-touch AI Button for quick access to frequently used functions. The Honor 500 series comes in Blue, Pink, Silver, and Black color options, with prices starting from 3599 RMB for the Honor 500 Pro and 2699 RMB for the Honor 500.
While the global launch details are yet to be confirmed, the Honor 500 series is expected to offer competitive pricing compared to other flagship smartphones. Stay tuned for more updates on the global launch of the Honor Magic 8 range later this week.
