ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) is highlighted as one of the most undervalued NYSE stocks to consider buying at the moment. Despite facing financial challenges related to the Willow CapEx, the company continues to garner positive attention from analysts. UBS recently adjusted ConocoPhillips’ price target to $117 from $122 but maintained a Buy rating on the stock, underscoring its long-term potential.

In early November, Bloomberg reported that ConocoPhillips revised its total spending plan for the Willow oil and natural gas project in Alaska to as much as $9 billion. This adjustment was made due to inflation and rising costs, with the initial estimate ranging from $7 to $7.5 billion. The increase to $8.5 to $9 billion was primarily driven by general inflationary costs amounting to approximately $700 million.

Despite these challenges, ConocoPhillips remains committed to commencing oil production from the Willow project in early 2029. This project holds strategic importance for the company as it diversifies its portfolio amidst the maturation of shale basins in Texas. With an expected yield of around 600 million barrels of crude over a 30-year lifespan, the Willow project aligns with the growing emphasis on domestic oil production.

ConocoPhillips is engaged in exploring, producing, transporting, and marketing various energy resources, including crude oil, natural gas, and liquefied natural gas. While the company presents investment potential, some AI stocks are viewed as offering greater upside with lower downside risk.
