The Trump administration announced on Friday that an agreement has been reached with Northwestern University to restore hundreds of millions of dollars in research funds and close pending investigations into the school.
As part of the deal, the Chicago-area university will pay $75 million to the U.S. government. The U.S. Justice Department said in a statement.
Back in April, the Trump administration had frozen nearly $800 million in research funding for Northwestern University following accusations from House Republicans that the school was not adequately addressing antisemitism, particularly during campus protests related to the Gaza war.
