I’m Back In Court!!!

Published December 1, 2025 1:00 AM PST

Luigi Mangione is making a return to the courthouse from the federal detention center where he is currently held. He is scheduled for a pretrial hearing in his New York state case, facing accusations of gunning down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

Luigi’s last court appearance was in mid-September, where he successfully had a couple of terrorism charges dismissed in the state case. Now, his defense team is pushing for him to be unshackled during court sessions to allow him to write freely.

Furthermore, Luigi’s defense team is fighting to exclude certain alleged evidence from court, such as his statements to law enforcement during his 2024 arrest at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, as well as a backpack found by the police.

Luigi’s supporters will have to wait until January 9 for his next court appearance in his federal death penalty case. Throughout the legal proceedings, he maintains his plea of not guilty to all charges brought against him.
