Laurie Metcalf and Eric McCormack to Guest Star in Season 2 of CBS’ “Elsbeth”
Laurie Metcalf and Eric McCormack have been announced as guest stars in the upcoming Season 2 of CBS’ hit show “Elsbeth.” The show, a mystery spinoff of “The Good Wife” and “The Good Fight,” stars Carrie Preston as the sharp-witted detective Elsbeth Tascioni.
Metcalf will make her appearance in the eighth episode of the season as Regina Coburn, a seasoned actress who yearns for artistic fulfillment after two decades of playing a tough detective on a police procedural. When the showrunner of Regina’s series is tragically murdered, she finds herself in the spotlight as a prime suspect and clashes with Elsbeth in the process.
Eric McCormack will join the cast in the ninth episode as Tom Murphy, the founder of an exclusive holistic wellness center catering to the elite. When Tom’s empire is threatened by a vengeful individual, he takes matters into his own hands to protect his business.
“Elsbeth” is a unique police procedural dramedy that focuses on “howcatchem” mysteries, where the audience knows the identity of the culprit from the start. The show premiered in February 2024 and has quickly become a fan favorite, leading to the second season being greenlit shortly after the first season concluded.
Showrunner and executive producer Jon Tolins expressed his excitement for the new guest stars, highlighting the welcoming atmosphere on set that attracts top talent like Metcalf and McCormack. The show continues to draw in exceptional actors who bring their A-game to each episode.
Laurie Metcalf, known for her Emmy-winning roles in “Roseanne” and “Hacks,” as well as her recent work on “The Connors,” is a versatile actress with an impressive resume spanning film, television, and stage. Eric McCormack, famous for his role in “Will & Grace,” has also made a name for himself in both theater and television, with upcoming projects like the MGM+ limited series “Nine Dead Bodies in a Mexican Morgue.”
