A parolee convicted of a machine gun possession case is now facing charges of aggravated kidnapping and armed robbery just three months after his release from prison. Marquis Terry, 21, was released from Illinois Department of Corrections custody on August 14, thanks to credits he earned while in Cook County Jail. However, on November 19, Terry was allegedly involved in a series of violent robberies in Humboldt Park and Little Village, according to Chicago police.

During this crime spree, multiple offenders approached victims, brandished firearms, and demanded their belongings. The robberies took place within a span of 30 minutes, with the first incident occurring on North Keeler Avenue in Humboldt Park. A 36-year-old man was pulled from his car, assaulted, and robbed by armed individuals who fled the scene.

In another incident on West 26th Street in Little Village, a 52-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint and physically assaulted. Shortly after, a 31-year-old man on South Komensky Avenue was also targeted by offenders who struck him in the head and stole his belongings. The most severe incident took place on South Saint Louis Avenue, where a 34-year-old man was kidnapped at gunpoint, taken to ATMs to withdraw money, and ultimately robbed before being left in the vehicle.

Marquis Terry was identified as one of the offenders through victim statements and digital evidence by Citywide Robbery Task Force detectives. He was apprehended on December 4 with the assistance of the 11th District tactical team and the Illinois Department of Corrections. Terry now faces charges of armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated armed kidnapping, and aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.

While Terry is in custody, authorities are still searching for the other individuals involved in these crimes.
