Prince Andrew Agrees to Leave Royal Lodge Amid Controversy
After being embroiled in scandal and stripped of his royal titles, Prince Andrew has agreed to leave the Royal Lodge and move to a smaller residence on the Sandringham Estate. The decision came after his older brother, King Charles, gave him his marching orders.
Prince Andrew, now known as Andrew Windsor, has occupied the 31-room property since 2004. However, following his controversial relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, he decided to step back from public duties and relinquish his HRH title. He returned the Royal Lodge lease to The Crown Estate on October 30 in an effort to protect the reputation of his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
Despite the initial plan for Prince Andrew to vacate the Royal Lodge by Christmas, sources indicate that the process has faced unexpected delays. It is now speculated that he may not move until February due to logistical issues and uncertainties surrounding the readiness of his new home at Sandringham.
A source close to the situation revealed, “He’s lived in that big house for many years, and since he’s moving to a smaller place, it’s unlikely the move will happen before Christmas.”
