New Zealand Food Safety has concluded that there are no food safety risks associated with the Government’s school lunch provider following an investigation into the discovery of mouldy lunches at a school in Christchurch.
It was reported that some students at Haeata Community Campus were served rotten meals last Monday. After thorough investigation, NZ Food Safety determined that the most likely explanation was that lunches intended for the previous week were mistakenly mixed with the meals served on Monday.
Investigators have ruled out the possibility that the School Lunch Collective had delivered old meals. Despite this, the school has maintained that the mouldy lunches were not a result of any mix-up on their part.
