New Hampshire Woman Charged After Daughter Tests Positive for THC Gummy Ingestion
A woman from New Hampshire is facing charges of child endangerment and witness tampering after her daughter ingested a THC gummy and tested positive for cannabinoids and cocaine, according to authorities.
The incident came to light when the state Division for Children, Youth and Families alerted the Nashua Police Department on Nov. 3, leading to a police investigation.
According to a statement from the Nashua Police Department, detectives discovered that the 6-year-old girl had been hospitalized after consuming the gummy and that her mother, Paige Goulet, allegedly instructed a witness not to cooperate with the investigation.
“While at the hospital, the juvenile victim tested positive for the illegal drugs, cannabinoids, and cocaine,” the statement read. “Detectives also found evidence that Goulet had neglected her duty to care for her daughter.”
Paige Goulet, 30, was apprehended by Meredith police on Monday on a felony warrant related to tampering with witnesses in the Nashua police case. She was then taken into custody by Nashua police and officially charged.
Goulet is now facing charges of tampering with witnesses and endangering the welfare of a child, as per the police release.
Following her arrest, Goulet was released on $300 cash bail and is set to appear in Nashua District Court for arraignment on Jan. 7.
