A second statement released by the department on Thursday indicated that Moore, identified as “the suspect,” remained in custody and was expected to appear in court on Friday.

Moore, a married father of three and a Kansas native, joined the Michigan coaching staff in 2018 and became head coach in 2024 following Jim Harbaugh’s departure.
