Reports have surfaced that Socks, the beloved black-and-white stray cat who has been a fixture at Coors Field for over a decade, is missing. The volunteers who care for her and regularly refill her food bowl have not seen her in four weeks, raising concerns among her dedicated caretakers.

According to a recent post on the dedicated Twitter account for Socks, her absence is a significant departure from her usual behavior of showing up consistently for meals despite changes in feeding times and volunteers over the years.

The caretakers expressed their worries on Monday, stating, “For Socks to be completely absent from view for this long is unusual and concerning.”

Socks, the original black-and-white Coors Field Cat with a tipped ear and yellow eyes, has not been seen in 4 weeks. This is a major change from her 10+ years of showing up consistently to eat, even as feeding times and volunteers have rotated…

In 2021, Socks briefly left Coors Field to undergo surgery to remove a tumor discovered during her spaying procedure. Additionally, another resident cat of the stadium, Smokey, retired in 2023 due to health concerns related to aging. Smokey has since been adopted by a Denver resident and is enjoying his retirement with plenty of attention and care.

Smokey is doing amazing. He’s become super social, always wants to be pet & loves licking people. Recently a mouse scurried in while he was on the couch & he looked at me as if to say ā€œwhat are you going to do about that?ā€ He acts like a retired cat but is as sweet as they come!

If anyone has spotted Socks in the last month, they are urged to contact her caretakers via the @CoorsFieldCat account on X. The care team is hopeful that she has simply found a new hiding spot and is seeking any information that could shed light on her recent whereabouts.
