A Woman Faces Felony Charges for Allegedly Spraying Substance on DoorDash Food

A shocking incident in Evansville, Indiana has left a woman facing felony charges after allegedly spraying a substance on food delivered through DoorDash, causing customers to vomit. The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a man on December 7, stating that he and his wife experienced severe vomiting and burning sensations in their mouth, nose, throat, and stomach after consuming fast food ordered through the popular delivery service.

According to official statements released by the sheriff’s department, the man discovered a red substance on the delivery bag and reviewed footage from his doorbell camera. The footage revealed the delivery driver, later identified as Kourtney Stevenson from Kentucky, using an aerosol can attached to her keychain to spray a substance towards the food after dropping it off and taking a photo.

Stevenson claimed that she had used pepper spray to ward off a spider while working for DoorDash during a visit to her father in Indiana. However, the sheriff’s department refuted her explanation, citing the weather conditions that were not conducive to outdoor spider activity at the time of the incident.

After Stevenson refused to participate in an interview, detectives obtained a warrant for her arrest on charges of battery resulting in a moderate injury and consumer product tampering. She is currently awaiting extradition to Indiana to face the legal consequences of her actions.

DoorDash responded promptly to the incident, banning Stevenson from the platform and expressing zero tolerance for such behavior. A spokesperson for DoorDash stated, “The Dasher’s access to the platform has been permanently removed, and our team is cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation.”
