Oasis have recently turned down an enticing offer to headline a residency at Las Vegas’ futuristic Sphere venue, as reported by insiders speaking to RadarOnline.com. The band, fronted by the Gallagher brothers Noel and Liam, have decided against the opportunity after realizing that the residency would not bring in profits but rather cost them millions.

After their successful Live ’25 tour, Oasis had been contemplating additional comeback shows, including performances at iconic venues like the Etihad and Knebworth in the United Kingdom. However, Las Vegas show organizers were eager to lure them into a high-profile residency at the 18,600-seat Sphere. Despite initial interest, Noel Gallagher ultimately rejected the offer after a conversation with U2’s Bono shed light on the financial risks involved.

U2 reportedly spent a staggering $40 million on video design for their shows at the Sphere between September 2023 and March 2024. Noel, admiring U2’s ambitious tours, was deterred by Bono’s complaints about the exorbitant expenses associated with the venue. Recognizing the financial burden, Oasis decided to steer clear of the residency opportunity.

While Oasis could have easily funded the production requirements for a show at the Sphere, the economic feasibility was a major concern. The band would have had to cover the entire production and video costs themselves, leading to minimal profit margins. Noel’s pragmatic approach to decision-making led him to reject the offer, refusing to gamble large sums upfront for a show that might not yield substantial returns.

Despite turning down the Sphere residency, Oasis is now focused on potentially announcing major stadium shows in the UK, with Knebworth being a likely venue choice. Industry insiders are optimistic about the band’s future prospects in the UK market, citing significant demand for their performances. The renewed interest in Oasis comes after months of speculation about a potential reunion between the Gallagher brothers, with Noel prioritizing financially sound decisions based on lessons learned from U2’s experience.

In conclusion, Oasis’s decision to decline the Sphere residency reflects their commitment to making financially sensible choices in the music industry. As they continue to enjoy immense popularity and sell-out shows, the band is focused on delivering high-quality performances without compromising their financial stability.
