Near-Record High Temperatures Expected in Denver This Week

Denver is bracing for near-record highs this week as unseasonably warm weather persists, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasted temperatures in Denver are set to peak near 67 degrees on Monday, just one degree shy of the 1921 record of 68 degrees, as reported by the weather service. Typically, Denver experiences normal high temperatures around 43 degrees at this time of year.

The city has another opportunity to break records on Friday, with temperatures expected to reach 67 degrees once again. This would tie the current record high for December 19, set in 2023, according to weather service records.

However, temperatures are expected to dip midweek as a chance of rain and snow enters the forecast for Wednesday night. Denver could see a slight chance of rain between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday, followed by a slight chance of snow between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday, as per hourly forecasts from the weather service.

Fortunately, temperatures are not projected to drop below freezing on Wednesday night into Thursday morning, so any snowfall is unlikely to accumulate.
