Muay Thai star Aliff Sor Dechapan from Malaysia and Thailand is starting to build a rivalry with the current ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai. However, despite the competition, Aliff holds a great deal of respect for the Thai legend.
One of the things that impresses Aliff the most about Prajanchai is his mentorship of his teammate Tawanchai. In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Aliff praised Prajanchai for his role in developing Tawanchai into a dominant force in the sport.
Aliff acknowledged Prajanchai’s influence on Tawanchai, stating, “He is a fighter and I think we need to have that fight face when we are close to our opponents. But yeah, I know he’s played a big role in helping Tawanchai because they are from the same gyms.”
Fresh off a recent unanimous decision victory over Ramadan Ondash at ONE Fight Night 38, Aliff is now being positioned as the next challenger for Prajanchai’s strawweight Muay Thai title. The highly anticipated showdown between Aliff and Prajanchai is expected to take place next year.
In the meantime, fans can look forward to seeing Tawanchai PK Saenchai in action this Friday night. Tawanchai will be facing off against Liu Mengyang in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 137 at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The event will be broadcast live on ONE Championship’s YouTube channel, the ONE Super App, and other digital platforms.
For all the latest updates on Tawanchai PK Saenchai’s upcoming fights, stay tuned to Sportskeeda MMA. And be sure to catch the action as Tawanchai takes on Liu Mengyang in what promises to be an exciting showdown in the world of kickboxing.
