Former “Saturday Night Live” star Leslie Jones has made a bold statement, calling for Democrats to take action against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers if they regain control of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections. During an interview with MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace on her podcast “The Best People,” Jones expressed her frustration with the current state of affairs.
She emphasized the need for accountability, stating, “You see somebody that’s doing something completely terrible, and we let them go because of freedom of speech. But there should be consequences, just like gravity. Things should fall.”
When asked about the future, Jones painted a hopeful picture of change if Democrats win the midterms. “I’m hoping that people come out and vote like crazy to make a switch, and then the reckoning comes,” she said.
Jones didn’t hold back, stating, “That’s why I want everybody that works for ICE to be in jail. I want a reckoning. Y’all know you did wrong stuff. I need a reckoning because that’s the only thing that’s going to make it right.”
