The situation for Donald Trump is looking increasingly dire, as he appears to be struggling to connect with the American public. During an eight-minute address, he notably failed to discuss any pressing issues that resonate with the everyday concerns of citizens.
Trump’s central theme seemed to suggest that everything is functioning admirably, with the blame for his administration’s shortcomings squarely placed on Democrats.

In his remarks, Trump asserted:
“I am bringing those high prices. And bringing them down very fast. Let’s look at the facts. Under the Biden administration, car prices rose 22% and in many states, 30% or more, gasoline rose 30 to 50%. Hotel rates rose 37%. Airfares rose 31%. Now under our leadership, they’re all coming down and coming down fast.”
“Democrat politicians also sent the cost of groceries soaring, but we are solving that too. The price of a Thanksgiving turkey was down 33% compared to Biden last year. The price of eggs is down 82% since March, and everything else is falling rapidly. And it’s not done yet. But boy are we making progress.”
“Nobody can believe what’s going on.”
Unfortunately for Trump, “nobody” might just be the right word, as these claims seem to lack any credible backing.
In his attempt to persuade the nation that prices are declining and incomes are increasing, Trump conveniently overlooked the fact that rising incomes are largely a result of inflation. He posited that tariffs are stimulating economic growth, a claim that stands in stark contrast to the Federal Reserve’s findings, which indicate that these very tariffs are actually hindering economic progress.
Listening to Trump’s rhetoric was reminiscent of watching a late-night infomercial for a dubious vacation property—appealing spin, but with a distinct lack of substance.
