James Bailey, the husband of actress Devon Aoki, found himself in hot water this week after being charged with a hit-and-run incident in Coral Gables, Florida. The incident occurred when Bailey allegedly ran over the foot of a scooter rider with his white Audi SQ7 SUV before fleeing the scene. The victim suffered serious injuries, including two foot fractures, as a result of the incident.

Video footage captured the moment when the rider’s foot was trapped beneath Bailey’s SUV, with the victim visibly in pain and pleading for the driver to move the vehicle. Despite the victim’s girlfriend also urging Bailey to release the foot from underneath the tire, the Audi reversed, knocking the man to the ground, before speeding away without providing any aid or information.

Authorities were able to track down Bailey through license plate readers and police cameras, leading them to his $9.1 million mansion shared with Aoki. When officers arrived at the residence, Aoki claimed she did not know the whereabouts of the vehicle. Bailey later arrived in the Audi and attempted to evade police by running into the house and locking himself inside. He was eventually taken into custody and charged with hit-and-run causing serious bodily injury and resisting arrest without violence.

Despite the serious nature of the incident, Bailey appeared in court the following morning and was released on a $7,500 bond. Aoki, known for her roles in “2 Fast 2 Furious” and “Sin City,” has since retired from acting. The couple, who married in 2011, have four children together.

The Audi involved in the hit-and-run incident showed minor damage consistent with a collision with a pedestrian on a stand-up scooter. Bailey’s reckless actions have landed him in legal trouble, highlighting the importance of accountability and responsibility on the road. As the legal process unfolds, it remains to be seen how this incident will impact the couple and their family moving forward.
